Key Elements
- Work with client on finding the best solution to rebrand existing landmark signs
- Design and submit layouts and construction drawings for client approval
- Install of signs with minimal impact on the environment and the day-to-day operations of a university
- Prototype and develop best lighting techniques for the new brand
When you initially manufacture large landmark pylon signs, most would not even consider that one day these may need to be changed or updated. In the case of the pylon signs across the many campuses for the then University of Western Sydney, this was the case. The university, now known as Western Sydney University, with a complete new brand wanted all of the landmark pylon signs re-decorated with the new brand.
Singleton Moore Signs had previously built all of these landmark signs and through smart design and archiving we were able to implement the new brand onto these signs without having to make any changes to the supporting structure. Works and modifications only had to be made to the external framing and cladding, this was due, in part, to our clever design and build on the original signs.
Replacement external frames and intracut ACM cladding with push-through acrylic letters were all manufactured at our factory and transported to site. These were then lifted into place and fixed to the main structural frame after we removed the old panels.
We worked very hard with the client in researching and testing various lighting solutions that suited the new colours and brand. This also included several trips to site at night to test the lighting in its natural outdoor environment.
The end result was excellent and the client has since extended our position on the preferred sign supplier panel for another 3 years.
